This is an Outside Territory Sales Representative opportunity that covers an 10 state region:  PA/NY/NJ/DE/MD/CT/DE/MA/VT/ME as well as Eastern Canada.   This role will be developing new business and growing current sales in Pet Chains, Pet and Animal Health distributors and their retailers/vet clinics, Farm Supply outlets and Catalogue/On-line channels of distribution.  


Responsibilities include: 

  • Building relationships with current key customer decision makers
  • Analyzing & developing an understanding of how the customer interacts in the marketplace
  • Developing new business within the assigned territory that will complement existing business not cannibalize it.
  • Introducing and placing new products
  • Work with distributor’s sales personal to train and assist with key account product placement
  • Developing customer sales growth strategy plans
  • Working with marketing to implement promotional programs in the field
  • Helping create demand for our products at the trade level with pet retailers, farm stores and vet clinics
  • Organizing & participating in product training & Trade Shows
  • Bringing new complimentary product ideas and innovations to the company
  • Monitoring customer profitability and implement plans to improve it
  • Providing weekly field reports to supervisor highlighting account activities.
  • Exceeding monthly territory budget by supporting current account activity, new product placement, partnering with assigned customer service representative to aid in communication flow to the customers
  • Managing customer’s Pet-Ag business maintaining and growing the creditability and profitability of our company


  • Education/Experience: Bachelors Degree plus 3 or more years of a sales background in Animal Health
  • 2 plus years of experience/knowledge within retail industry of either Pet Specialty or Farm/Ranch
  • Proven analytical ability of both computerized reports and retail merchandising.
  • At least 3 years of experience in outside sales.
  • Travel required in this position: More than 50% but less than 70%.
