Responsibilities

Responsibilities: 

 

  • Responsible for planning and implementing all daily production schedules under the guidance of Director of Operations.Takes lead in scheduling productions, taking into consideration the best utilization of equipment, reducing change overs and maximizing efficiency in line set ups
  • Works closely with the Director of Operations, Production Supervisor I, Production leads, Maintenance Manager, Warehouse Manager, Marketing Operations Manager and Inventory Control.
  • Conducts daily meetings with inventory manager on usage reports.
  • Proactively seeks to understand and address emerging priorities requiring planning and scheduling adjustments 
  • Responsible for overseeing the production and packaging of all Feed Supplements, Nutritionals, according to formulas and specifications, assembly and packaging of Rawhide products and other small packaging.Understands and maintains Sanitary practices, Quality Assurance procedures, Health/Safety & Environmental requirements and compliance with FDA, AIB, USDA and EPA regulatory protocols as applicable.                      
  • In charge of developing new and more efficient ways to improve production outputs without jeopardizing the quality of the products; evaluates current processes and procedures to eliminate unnecessary steps or excessive waste; establishes new production standards; set up goals for production lines.
  • Directly involved in the efficient and proper packaging of rawhide domestic and international items following specific requirements on work orders set by Category Manager/Buyer.
  • Continuing cross training program with the assistance of Director of Operations, Safety Coordinator and Warehouse Manager to achieve a more balanced work crew and enhance succession plan
  • Understand and reinforce that all Company policies and procedures are followed according to the PBI-Gordon handbook

Qualifications

 

 

  • Bachelor Degree with 4+ years of experience in the skilled areas listed plus 2-3 years of managing food manufacturing. If no degree, then the equivalent of High School / GED and 16 years of work experience similar field of expertise. 
  • 4+ years of experience working cross functionally with production, warehouse and office personnel.
  • 4+ years of experience demonstrated understanding of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Bilingual in Spanish a plus however it is not required.
