Responsibilities

This position processes customer product orders and any other duties relating to customer orders – credits, returns, tracking, etc.  The customer service representative serves as the PBI’s contact point for the outside sales staff and handles their requests. 

 

  • Receive, check, organize and process customer orders received via phone, fax, email, EDI, etc.
  • Works with accounting and credit in resolving billing errors, shortages, overages, defective product issues, etc.
  • Works with customers, both distributors and end-users in resolving any and all complaints.
  • Maintains files on bills of lading, invoices, credits, RMAs, etc.
  • Serves as primary corporate office contact for outside sales personnel. Advises them of messages, customer orders and anything else they may need to know about.  May work with sales on special projects
  • Assists logistics personnel with tracing shipments, following up on damages, shortages, etc.
  • Assists callers seeking product information and forwards calls to Technical Support staff as needed.
  • Handles literature and MSDS requests from sales personnel and customers.
  • Helps other departments as time allows including front desk phone relief.
  • Ensures that internal and external customer service is a top priority.
  • All other duties as may be assigned.

Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.  Some college preferred or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience: 3yrs customer service experience or relevant retail experience.
  • Specialized knowledge or training: Good communications skills, good math aptitude, excel at multi-tasking and working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Travel required in this position: None
